Veteran Families
More than 90 percent of the 10,000 members of the Puerto Rico National Guard have served in Iraq and Afghanistan since October 2001. The consequences of this conflict go beyond the number of deaths and wounded. Unemployment and a rising divorce rate are forcing the parents of these veterans to care for them and their grandchildren.
